Homeownership is a dream, but it is also a challenge. You need a financial plan and answers to many questions. How long will you stay in that house? Will you find a home yourself or will you search for a realtor? Should you purchase your house in a school district? Will you buy an apartment or a single-family home?
I can post hundreds of questions stating the challenges faced by new buyers. However, I will limit this article to the top 6 problems and their solutions.
Challenge #1: Financing
We have repeatedly read that buying real estate is one of the biggest investments of life. It provides great returns but also requires thousands of dollars upfront. You can take a mortgage, but still, you need a financial plan to cover the costs of homeownership.
The best way is to start early.
Financial experts suggest, saving for your house in the early twenties or as soon as you get your first job. You need to automate your payment into a “savings account.” If you can set aside money worth a mortgage payment, great. Otherwise, save as much as you can for your home. Give yourself 5-7 years to save for your house. That way, you will have funds ready when you decide to make the purchase.
What about those who are in the early 30s? Well, your best bet is to improve your credit score. Prepare an excellent credit score, secure the home with the minimum down payment, and apply for the 15-year mortgage. These tips will ensure that you pay the minimum amount on mortgage interest rates and you will pay off your loan quickly.
Challenge #2: Credit Score

Challenge #3: Working with a Realtor
You have two options. You can either find your home yourself or appoint a broker to find it for you. Despite the effectiveness of the web, many people feel it is hard to find a reliable and educated real estate agent. Challenge #6: Moving to Your New House
While it is an exciting moment, buyers often experience stress. They are leaving their old place while shifting to a new place with new expectations. At the same time, they hope the new home will be everything they have wished for.
The solution is to take a break. Do not try to overwhelm yourself with different roles. You do not move a house every day, so it is not a recurring activity. Give yourself one week -10 days to settle into the new place. If possible, take rest from your job and give your full attention to the moving process.
